Orthopedic Training Initiative

Intralign Academy has partnered with world-renowned orthopedic care provider, Hospital for Special Surgery, to create a unique educational offering designed for Surgical First Assistants. The course components are narrated by Hospital for Special Surgery clinical leadership with specific emphasis on the Surgical First Assistant’s role in supporting best clinical and operational practices commonly employed by this industry leader.

Raising the Quality of Orthopedic Care

Intralign Academy curriculum developers work with Hospital for Special Surgery to provide insight into Orthopedic surgery. Each module covers:

  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Pre-op exam and templating
  • Anesthesia choices
  • Patient positioning, prepping, and draping
  • Principles of instrumentation
  • Surgical techniques and approaches
  • Irrigation, drains, and wound closure
  • Surgical complications

Each educational course contains three components: didactic presentation, cadaver lab video, and a surgical video.

Course content is tailored to enhance the Surgical First Assistants’ operational and clinical competencies, enhancing their ability to deliver high-quality, consistent and professional assistance that allows the surgeon to do more with fewer resources.
